INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION


USUAA is interested in expanding its international contacts and exchange based on bilateral and multilateral agreements with partner institutions in other countries to achieve the following objectives:

  • integration into the international educational community;
  • international recognition of the level of education provided by USUAA;
  • staff development;
  • provision of opportunities to international students to learn architecture, design and arts in a very specific context of the Ural region in Russia;
  • participation in student and staff mobility programmes;
  • realisation of joint research and creativity projects.

USUAA has signed collaboration agreements with a number of schools in different countries as follows:

USUAA has already implemented a number of successful projects with its partners, such as:

  • Student workshops and research conferences devoted to the conservation of the Modern Movement industrial heritage in the Ural cities (Ekaterinburg, Magnitogorsk, etc.) in collaboration with Bauhaus Universität - Weimar
  • Collaborative projects and student competitions with Volkswagen AG (Volkswagen Design)
  • A BA (Hons) Design Course franchise project with the University of Huddersfield (UK)
  • Joint research and publications on architectural semiotics in collaboration with the International Association for Architectural Semiotics.
  • In October 2012, USUAA hosted an international conference of CUMULUS, the International Association of Universities of Colleges of Art, Design and Media, and joined CUMULUS in June 2013.

USUAA would welcome any queries and initiatives from colleagues in other countries concerning tuition, research and creativity for the mutual benefit of the students, staff and relevant communities.
